The Virgin
Jesus, according to the Quran, is believed to be a prophet sent by God. His Palestinian mother, Virgin Mary, is believed to have delivered Jesus in Bethlehem; making him a Palestinian also. In this painting, the Virgin Mary is shown wearing a traditional dress from Bethlehem and Jesus' disciples are dressed in the traditional Palestinian "qumbaz". Tamam Al-Akhal, 1987
